About this copy

This is the first UK edition, published by Robert Hale in 1982 (the copyright page states 'First published in Great Britain 1982', with text printed in the United States). The work contains over 650 illustrations covering coins, medals, tokens, decorations, and paper money, with a foreword by Henry Grunthal, former Curator of the American Numismatic Society. Author Richard G. Doty was Curator of Modern Coins and Paper Money at the American Numismatic Society in New York.

Hardcover book in red cloth boards, housed in the original illustrated dust jacket.

Condition

Book
Good – red cloth boards show general shelf wear; interior pages are clean with no noted foxing to the text block.
Dust jacket
Fair – a section of the jacket is torn away at the top of the spine/front panel, with additional creasing and a tear along the top edge of the rear panel. The flaps show some staining. The jacket remains intact and protective but shows notable wear overall.

This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
