About this copy
No date is printed in the surviving preliminary pages; the binding and typography are consistent with a Victorian-era printing. This volume combines two short works for children in one binding, a common format for readers of this type in the period. No edition or printing statement is present on the pages photographed, so the specific printing represented by this copy cannot be confirmed.
The book is bound in the publisher's dark green cloth, decoratively blocked in gilt and blind to the front board, with the title gilt-lettered on the spine. There is no dust jacket.
Condition
- Book
- Fair - a well-used copy. There is cloth loss and fraying at the head and tail of the spine with the underlying boards/cording exposed, rubbing and wear to the cloth generally, and bumped corners. The text block shows foxing and toning throughout, heavier to the front matter. The gilt title panel to the front board remains legible.
This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
