About this copy
This is the first edition, first printing, identified by the complete number line (1 3 5 7 9 10 8 6 4 2) on the copyright page and the 'First published in Great Britain by Granta Books, 2008' statement, with no later reprint noted. A hardback in its original dust jacket, illustrated throughout with Helen Macdonald's fine pen-and-ink bird studies, including the title-page vignette. The jacket carries a BBC Radio 4 'Book of the Week' promotional sticker on the front panel, reflecting the book's on-air serialisation, though this sticker is now torn with some adhesive residue visible.
Condition
- Book
- Good – boards and text block appear clean and sound in the photographed views, with only minor age-related wear expected.
- Dust jacket
- Good – general handling wear at the edges, a small crease to one flap corner, and a torn BBC Radio 4 promotional sticker with adhesive residue on the front panel.
This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
