About this copy
CORONATION SOUVENIR BOOK 1937 By Gordon Beckles. Art Editor: Ivor Castle. Published by Daily Express Publications, London, 1937.
This is the Daily Express's official souvenir volume commemorating the Coronation of King George VI in 1937, written by journalist Gordon Beckles. No printing statement is present on the title page, and the copyright history could not be verified from the photographs supplied. The book is bound in gilt-decorated cloth boards with an embossed and printed design of the royal crown, sceptre and coat of arms on the front board.
No dust jacket is present.
Condition
- Book
- Fair – the gilt design to the boards remains bright and legible, but the spine cloth is worn and frayed with some loss at the head. The front preliminary leaf shows heavy foxing/browning, and the rear board has light scuffing. Sound and complete but showing notable age-related wear.
This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
