About this copy

This is the 1954 Longmans, Green and Co edition of Charles Foley's account of Lt-Col Robert Blair "Paddy" Mayne and the Special Raiding Squadron, with a foreword by Major-General Sir Robert Laycock, Chief of Combined Operations 1943-47. The copyright page states 'First published 1954' with no reprint notice visible, consistent with this copy being from the first printing. The book is presented in its original red cloth boards with a black spine label.

No dust jacket is present with this copy.

Condition

Book
Good – red cloth boards show general rubbing and light sunning to extremities, with the spine cloth and lettering piece noticeably faded/toned compared to the boards. The front free endpaper and facing page show foxing/brown spotting. A small pencil reference code appears on the front free endpaper, likely from a previous bookseller. Text block otherwise sound.

This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
