This is a 1904 edition from Thomas Nelson and Sons collecting Thackeray's novel Catherine along with Lovel the Widower and other shorter pieces. No printing or edition statement beyond the date appears on the title page; this is a later collected edition of works originally published decades earlier, not a first edition. The book is bound in half-leather with cloth boards and a gilt-decorated spine reading "Catherine Etc.
Thackeray."

- Fair – the leather spine shows notable wear with chipping and small losses at the head and tail, and the gilt lettering is rubbed. The cloth boards show scuffing and scratch marks throughout, and the corners are worn with some leather loss. The text block itself appears clean and complete in the photographed pages.
