About this copy
This is the third impression, December 1953, of the satirical novel about a probationer nurse's training at a fictional London hospital. The copyright page lists the first impression as October 1953, second impression November 1953 and third impression December 1953. It is not a first impression.
The book is in a blue cloth binding with a pictorial blue paper dust jacket by the author. The jacket is in poor condition with large tears and losses, particularly along the spine and front panel. The inside front endpaper carries a handwritten inscription: 'To Sheila with love from Nancy.
Summer 1954', with the name Sheila G. Hance and Westminster Children's Hospital.
