Published by Brown, Son & Ferguson, Ltd., Glasgow, 1949. This is the 'New and Revised Edition' dated 1949, as stated on the preliminary leaf facing the title page.
It is not a first edition of the title, but this specific revised printing from that year. The atlas was produced as a practical working reference for merchant navy officers and candidates for Ministry of Transport navigation examinations. The book is bound in stiff paper-covered boards in an oblong format, with a cloth spine.
No dust jacket is present.

- Fair – the boards show notable wear, with chipped and frayed edges along the fore-edge and corners, and a small tear/crack at the top right corner of the front cover. The spine cloth shows wear at the head and tail. The text pages and star charts are clean with only light age toning. The binding remains sound despite the cosmetic board damage.
This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
