About this copy

This copy is the second printing (1994) of the first edition, published in the Pitt Latin American Series. Written by the U.S. Ambassador to Nicaragua who served during the final weeks of the Somoza regime in 1979, this is a firsthand diplomatic account of the Nicaraguan revolution. The book retains its original dust jacket, which shows the printed UK price of £29.50 on the front flap.

The front free endpaper carries an owner's gift inscription dated 2001 ("To Bill & Jill, a gift from Roger Allen"); this is not an author signature.

Condition

Book
Good – boards sound, text block clean with no notable foxing seen. A pencilled owner inscription appears on the front free endpaper.
Dust jacket
Fair – wear and small chipping at the spine ends, rubbing and bumping to the corners, and soiling to the top edge of the rear flap. Old bookshop price stickers are affixed to the rear panel.

This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
