About this copy

Shelagh Delaney wrote A Taste of Honey when she was still a teenager, and it became one of the most celebrated British plays of the late 1950s. Staged by Joan Littlewood's Theatre Workshop at the Theatre Royal, Stratford, it brought a raw, working-class Salford world to the London stage with wit, warmth and real honesty. It later became a classic film, and the play remains a staple of the modern British theatre canon.

This is a Methuen West End Edition paperback, priced at 3s 6d net on the front cover. It is a later printing, with the copyright page recording reprints from 1959 and 1960, and it carries the striking black-and-white front cover photograph of the play in performance. A handy, characterful copy of a landmark play.

Condition

Book
Good - a sound, tightly bound copy with the cover firmly attached. The bright blue front cover is attractive, with some edge wear and light creasing near the top. The text is clean but has scattered foxing throughout, in keeping with its age.

A pre-owned book; any wear beyond that described is minor and in keeping with its age.
