About this copy
This is the first edition, published in Great Britain in 1979 in connection with the Victoria and Albert Museum's Garden Exhibition. The book was researched and written by John Harris, designed by Helen Hamlyn, with the decorative alphabet drawn by David Coster. It contains 24 original engravings reproduced from Batty Langley's Pomona, or The Fruit Garden Illustrated, first published in 1729.
The book is bound in green cloth boards with gilt lettering to the spine. No dust jacket is present with this copy.
Condition
- Book
- Good – green cloth boards show scattered small spots of foxing and light surface soiling to the front and rear covers, along with minor rubbing to the spine ends. Text block and binding otherwise sound.
This is a pre-owned book, and minor age-related wear may be present beyond what is specifically mentioned. All readily visible defects have been described to the best of my ability. Please see photos, which form part of the description.
